We Welcome You to Join Us
The Havre de Grace Presbyterian Church is a relatively small congregation dedicated to worshipping and serving God as he is revealed in the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our worship services follow a traditional format, but we add some contemporary forms of worship from time to time. The congregation seeks the presence of the Holy Spirit through the preaching of the Word, prayer and music. We observe the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of each month.
We serve the Havre de Grace community by providing food from our food pantry to families in need, by serving in a community lunch program, and through contributions to the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity. We also support some national and international mission programs.
We provide for the nurture and fellowship of the congregation through a coffee hour every other month; a Christian education program for children, youth, and adults; and major fellowship events that are scheduled at least once each quarter of the year.
As is true with all Presbyterian Churches, the major program decisions are made by the Session of the church, which in our case is composed of six elders elected to serve three year terms. We have a Board of Deacons also having six members who regularly keep in contact with members of the congregation and provide money to support charitable causes and the needs of individual people in the community. The care of our building and grounds is in the hands of the six members on our Board of Trustees. These eighteen officers provide important leadership in our congregation.
Times are changing and the church needs to change the way we do certain things while maintaining the message of Jesus Christ: to love God and love our neighbor as ourselves. We welcome the opportunity to greet you and talk with you about our church program and your faith.
